Pilates Classes

About Pilates
Pilates is a form of exercise that has a strong focus on developing core strength, while also providing a whole-body workout that will improve the strength, flexibility and co-ordination of your entire body.

Pilates involves mindful focus on how your body is moving, training your body to move more smoothly and efficiently. Concentrating on how your body is moving can be a form of relaxation as you forget other distractions.

Our Classes
Our one-hour classes are heavily based on Pilates, while also including other exercises derived from our knowledge as physiotherapists.

Our classes are a comprehensive, whole-body workout designed to improve your flexibility, co-ordination, posture and overall body strength. Classes are suitable for both newcomers and those who have some experience.

Classes cater for beginners as well as those who have previous experience. In our classes, a range of exercises will be taught from beginner through to an intermediate level, allowing you to work at your own level of ability. If you have no prior experience, these classes will still teach you the fundamental principles that are essential to good technique and a strong, balanced core.

Classes may use the foam roller, chi ball, magic circle and other small props to add variety and challenge. Participants will be guided through a gradual progression of exercises, enabling each person to work at the right level and progress at the right pace.

Classes run each term for 9 or 10 weeks (depending on whether public holidays fall within the term). If you miss a class, you may make it up in another session during the term.

Equipment
You will need to bring your own mat and a towel. All other equipment will be provided.
